Vivian Imbruglia

Guest Speaker

Vivian Imbruglia is an iconographer from Rancho Cucamonga, California.
She has been writing icons since 2005 and has completed over two
hundred sacred images ranging from something you could
hold in your hands to larger images nearly six feet tall. Her original icons
can be found in homes, churches, shrines, convents, monasteries, and the Vatican.
All of her original icons are available as prints so that
more individuals can come to know iconography.

As a “Cradle Catholic”, Vivian had been exposed to the teachings of the
Church her whole life, but iconography has brought her to a new level of
understanding and devotion to her faith. Each image begins with research,
reading biographies, and studying devotions. She meditates in prayer while
she writes each icon, playing Gregorian chants and burning incense. Vivian
writes each icon by applying ancient Eastern Iconography methods,
such as the application of gold and symbolism. Throughout time,
God has guided her to write icons with softer, more realistic images that differ
from traditional Eastern Iconography images.

Vivian’s mission is simple: to spread the beauty of our Catholic faith
through images. Her mission is to help others to understand their faith
better and inspire meditation. Icons and sacred art are not considered
artwork but are the windows into heaven and a form of prayer. She
encourages families to use icons and other holy art forms to make
their homes domestic churches.

The registration window for our Breath of Spring event has closed but if you are still interested or have any questions, please contact Kim at shdevelopment@carmelitesistersocd.com.
