Stations of the Cross

The Stations of the Cross

A powerful devotion that we pray on Fridays during Ordinary Time (and Lent, especially) is the Stations of the Cross, consisting of prayers that walk us through 14 key areas during our Lord’s agonizing journey to Calvary. Here we present to you a Virtual Stations of the Cross, written by our Mother Foundress, Venerable Mother Luisita, and read by the Carmelite Sisters. While our campus stays closed, our prayers remain available for you, anytime, anywhere.

Opening Prayer

O Lord, Jesus Christ, Who has said, “If anyone wishes to come after Me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow Me.” Behold, out of love of You, I have taken up the cross destined for me from eternity. After Your example, I wish to continue carrying my cross bravely and courageously until the end of my life. Give me Your grace to fruitfully meditate on Your journey to Calvary and grant me an ever increasing devotion to Your most holy Passion. O Mary, my afflicted Mother, let me share in your sorrow and obtain for me the grace of a faithful perseverance in my holy vocation. Grant also, O merciful God, that I may gain all the indulgences attached to this devotion for the Holy Souls in Purgatory.
