Gentle Reminders

  • Give yourself a solid 45-60 minutes of undistracted time.
  • Listen in a room set apart from others, not where there is a television or computer screen on.
  • Have a journal you can write with and write down the points that speak to your heart along with any questions you would like to bring to the live Zoom Q&A sessions.
  • After the conference, we invite you to ponder any key points that struck you and take some silent prayer time to let the Lord speak to you about these points.

Conference 2 | Revelations in the Humanity of Jesus

Reflection Questions

1. In Jesus, “this human person…inhabits all the presence of God Himself,” and we see that in the past and present people did not and still do not recognize Him as God. God has given us the gift of faith to open our eyes to what is hidden! What does God want for us? For you?

“He wants to live in our midst, to express His love and His mercy, to visit His people and to speak to our hearts.”

2. Fr. Jacques Philippe suggests imagining Christ and to picture Him in our minds. What is the first image that I have of Jesus in my mind? What does He look like? How old is He? What is His posture? Is He smiling? Is He looking at me? Where is He?

3. What mystery is God inviting me to pray with?

4. These mysteries are moments not only in the past, but also present and even eternal bearing fruit! They are means of deepening our roots in Christ. How have I taken root to Jesus through difficult seasons in my life? Like God’s presence is hidden and He reveals Himself little by little, so too do the fruits of our life reveal little by little the change and conversion within our hearts.

5. Fr. Philippe gives beautiful examples of how to pray with Jesus’s name and to pray with great faith and trust. How can I pray with Jesus’s name today? What is one prayer that I like that I will try to put into practice this week?

Musical Meditation: O Cor Jesus

By the Carmelite Sisters, from the Light Into Fire Album

O Cor Jesu

by the Carmelite Sisters | Light Into Fire Album

O Cor Jesu Lyrics
Refrain:
O Cor Jesu flagrans amore nostri
Flagrans amore
O Cor Jesu flagrans amore nostri
Inflamma cor Nostrum amore tui

(English Translation: Heart of Jesus, burning with love for us. Set our heart on fire with love of Thee, meek and humble of heart.)

Heart of Jesus, we implore, make us love You more and more.
Always in Your loving gaze, say the word my will obeys.
O Redeemer, font of grace, You reveal the Father’s face.
Love is giv’n for Love received, In this Heart He is well pleased.

Refrain

Darkness fell Your o’ercome, “Not My will but Yours be done.”
“Let this chalice pass Me by, Father, do you hear my cry?”
Prostrate now, Your Heart consumed, mercy pours force from Love’s wound
Passionate Beauty on display
Pow’rs of death now flee away.

Refrain

Body, Blood You give to me. Banquet offered lavishly.
Fragrance sweet, aroma pure. To this Love my heart allure.
There it will forever stay, Altar of unending praise
Love unites in pierced side, I am Yours and You are mine.
