Praised be Jesus Christ! Welcome to your Divine Mercy Virtual Retreat prepared for you with love by the Carmelite Sisters!
We, the Carmelite Sisters at Sacred Heart Retreat House, feel called to focus more deeply in faith to what our Lord is calling us to. He opened our eyes to see the need of spiritual nourishment for all of you at home. We answered our Lord’s call in providing these virtual retreats~ to bring the Sacred Heart Retreat House right into your home!
God bless you for answering His call, too! With this retreat, you are giving Him this time to speak, and allowing Him to share His deep and abiding love for you. Remember, we are deeply united with you spiritually, most especially through our union with Jesus in prayer and in the Blessed Sacrament! So, really and truly, you are here with us as you retreat! Be assured of our prayers, all 130 of the Carmelite Sisters of the Most Sacred Heart of Los Angeles!
It’s time to focus on the most important aspect of our life… our Faith. This is the time to give God the space to speak to your heart and for you to share with him all your experiences. Here, now, in this room He meets you, not just at the Church or adoration chapel, but in your heart and in the hearts of your loved ones right next door.
Deepen Your Retreat Experience
Prepare your Prayer Space
- Designate a quiet space for your retreat this weekend. Place candles or images that will help remind you of God’s presence, right beside you.
- Make sure that you are comfortable, but not too comfortable.
- Have a journal on hand to write down any key points that struck you or questions that you would like to bring to the small group sharing time.
Stay Recollected
- Give yourself the space and opportunity to quiet your life. This might mean sharing with your friends and family so that they can respect your time and space.
- Try to stay away from unnecessary conversation. The most important thing is that you keep your interior peace of soul.
Stay on Schedule
- You will be given a good range of time to listen and pray. Try as much as you can to stay on schedule.
- At the same time, give yourself some leeway when other commitments or distractions pull you off course. As Father Jeremiah says, “Prayer is returning to God again, and again, and again.”
Sacred Space
On retreat, we need to set up a special space for our prayer so that we can open our hearts wider for Him. Pray along side with us in quiet and beautiful spaces on Sacred Heart Retreat House grounds.
